Destructor

Destructor is a robot wrestler in Futurama's parody of the fight game, built for menace: hulking, growling, and billed as an unstoppable force in the Ultimate Robot Fighting ring. He exists to be the obstacle, all posturing and threat, standing between Bender and glory.

He works because Maurice LaMarche throws real gravel-voiced bombast at a character who is, structurally, a joke — the show's love of pro-wrestling cliché rendered by a robot. The commitment to the bit, not the character's depth, is the pleasure: a small role played with total sincerity.
