Deputy Victoria "Vic" Moretti

Vic Moretti is a transplant from Philadelphia PD, sharp-tongued and unimpressed by the small-town rhythms of Absaroka County. As Sheriff Longmire's deputy, she's smart, foul-mouthed, and quick with both a joke and her sidearm, still adjusting to a place that runs slower and quieter than the city she left behind.

Sackhoff plays her as competent first and colorful second, which keeps the character from becoming a type. The banter with Longmire has real affection under the friction, and the writing lets her be visibly good at police work without making a speech about it — she just is, and the show trusts you to notice.
