Deputy U.S. Marshal Tim Gutterson

Tim Gutterson works out of the Lexington Marshals office alongside Raylan Givens, and he's the sharpest shooter in the room by a wide margin. Dry, watchful, and quick with a needling joke, he keeps his war record and his private life close, letting his marksmanship and his wit do the talking instead.

Pitts plays him as the guy who's already three steps ahead and too bored to say so loudly. The show lets his sniper background surface in glimpses rather than speeches, and that restraint, paired with Pitts's deadpan comic timing, makes Tim the office's quiet ace — funny, lethal, never showing off.
