Deputy Branch Connally

Branch Connally is a young deputy in the Absaroka County sheriff's office, sharp-suited and Denver-educated in a department of dusty pickups and instinct. He's ambitious, impatient with Walt's old-school methods, and openly weighing a run for sheriff himself. Confident, a little entitled, he clearly believes the job—and the county—should belong to someone like him.

Bailey Chase plays him as genuinely capable rather than a cartoon rival, which is what makes the generational friction with Walt interesting instead of obvious. He's polished where Walt is worn, connected where Walt is isolated, and the show lets you understand his appeal even as you're rooting against him.
