Deputy Andy Brennan

Andy is one of Sheriff Truman's deputies, sweet-natured and easily flustered, prone to crying at crime scenes and fumbling basic police tasks. He's earnest to a fault, eager to help, and quietly smitten with the station's receptionist. He wants to do good work and be taken seriously, though competence doesn't come easily to him.

Goaz plays him with such guileless sincerity that Andy becomes the show's emotional barometer — when he weeps over Laura Palmer's body, it registers as real grief rather than comic relief. The writing could easily make him a pure buffoon, but his tenderness keeps him human, and that softness anchors Twin Peaks' stranger tonal swings.
