Character
Delphine Cormier
Delphine Cormier in Orphan Black (2013), played by Évelyne Brochu.
Delphine arrives as Cosima's new lab partner at grad school, all quiet confidence and unreadable warmth. She's smart, French, and disarmingly direct about wanting Cosima, even as questions swirl around who she really works for. She watches more than she reveals, straddling affection and allegiance from the very first conversation.
Brochu plays Delphine as someone perpetually caught between sincerity and strategy, and the show never lets us settle on which is winning. Her romance with Cosima gives the show's clone conspiracy an emotional stake outside the sisterhood itself, and Brochu's stillness makes every small tell of conflicted loyalty land hard.
Dr. Delphine Cormier is one of Aldous Leekie's research associates at the Dyad Institute. She was assigned as a monitor to Cosima in order to get close to her. She posed as an immunology student at the University of Minnesota. Delphine, however, fell in love with Cosima and began helping her learn more about her nature.
