Dean Craig Pelton

Dean Pelton runs Greendale Community College with the frantic pride of a man defending a kingdom nobody else respects. He introduces himself in increasingly elaborate costumes and puns, desperate for the study group's approval and the school's survival in equal measure. Underneath the theatrics is a genuine, uncool eagerness to be liked by everyone who walks through his doors.

Jim Rash finds the ache under the absurdity: every ridiculous outfit and strained pun is really a plea for love, and he never lets you stop believing that even as he's screaming through a bullhorn dressed as a dinosaur. The writing hands him escalating indignity; he plays the sincerity underneath it so purely that the joke never curdles into cruelty.
