Dawn Forchette

Dawn is a nurse on the extended care unit of a underfunded hospital geriatric ward, juggling patients, paperwork, and her own messy personal life with a kind of exhausted good humor. She's eager to please, quick to overshare, and navigates workplace politics with more heart than tact.

Borstein plays Dawn as endearingly frazzled rather than broadly comic, finding the exhaustion and small humiliations of underpaid caregiving work without ever condescending to the character. The writing lets her be needy, funny, and genuinely compassionate at once, and Borstein holds those contradictions together with a specificity that never tips into caricature.
