Dawn Bailey

Dawn Bailey is a mother in mourning without a body to bury—her daughter Katie vanished a year ago, and Dawn has spent every day since refusing to let the town move on. She runs search efforts, hangs flyers, presses Detective Mare Sheehan for answers, and carries her grief like a job she cannot quit.

Enid Graham plays anguish that has calcified into routine, which is more devastating than raw hysteria would be. The show lets Dawn be difficult, exhausted, even unlikable in her demands, and Graham never softens that for sympathy—she makes a mother's stubborn, unglamorous endurance feel entirely earned.
