David Rose

Once a wealthy Manhattan socialite, David Rose is now stranded in a small motel room in Schitt's Creek with the rest of his suddenly bankrupt family. He's fussy, brittle, and fashion-obsessed, prone to circuitous sentences and withering looks, and utterly unequipped for a life without money or context.

Levy plays David's pretension as armor rather than shallowness, so every eye-roll and mangled metaphor about layers hints at real vulnerability underneath. The show lets him soften without ever flattening his specificity — he stays exacting, odd, and funny even as he opens up, which is why the growth feels earned rather than imposed.
