Darryl #2

Darryl #2 is one half of a matched set of silent, flannel-clad brothers who turn up at the Stratford Inn to do odd jobs, always trailing behind Larry and always introduced the same way: "This is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl." He rarely speaks and never explains himself.

The joke is built entirely on withholding — two grown men who almost never talk, reacting to absurd small-town chaos with flat, unreadable calm. Voldstad's genius is in stillness: a raised eyebrow or blank stare does more comic work than a line ever could, making silence the funniest voice in the room.
