Dark Wizard

A robed figure of foreboding title and little else, Dark Wizard turns up in one of Futurama's genre-parody detours, all portentous posturing and stock sorcerer menace. He speaks in the clipped doom-and-prophecy cadences the show loves to send up, more archetype than person at first glance.

Billy West, already juggling half the show's cast, slips into another register here — a growly, theatrical villain-voice that leans hard into fantasy cliché for the joke's sake. The character works less as a person than as a perfectly timed piece of parody, disposable but delivered with real comic precision.
