Danny Rayburn

Danny is the eldest Rayburn son, back in the Florida Keys for a family anniversary after years of drifting. He is charming, restless, and visibly carrying old wounds, angling for a place back in the family business and the family's good graces. His siblings watch him warily, unsure whether he has changed.

Mendelsohn plays him with a wounded, ingratiating warmth that never quite settles into trustworthiness — you want to believe him at the same moment you flinch. The performance lives in small hesitations and sideways glances, turning a familiar prodigal-son setup into something genuinely unpredictable and sad.
