Character
Dani Rojas
Dani Rojas in Ted Lasso (2020), played by Cristo Fernández.
Dani Rojas arrives at AFC Richmond as a star striker with one gloriously simple credo: football is life. He's relentlessly upbeat, throws himself into every drill and tackle with total joy, and treats the beautiful game like a religion he's delighted to practice daily.
The joke could be a one-note chant, but Cristo Fernández plays Dani's enthusiasm as completely sincere, which is what makes it land every time instead of wearing thin. He becomes the locker room's emotional weather vane, and the writers trust him with real vulnerability later, letting warmth and comedy sit in the same body.
He often hangs out with other players such as Thierry Zoreaux, Richard Montlaur, Sam Obisanya, Colin Hughes, and Jan Maas. He is an enthusiastic man and usually gets along easily with other team members, participating in group activities such as karaoke and dancing in clubs. He even has his own chant based off "Give It Up" by KC & The Sunshine Band, which he often sings loudly whenever he enters the field.
