Character

Dan McMasters

Dan McMasters in Futurama (1999), played by Phil LaMarr.

Dan McMasters appears in Futurama as one of the many one-off or background figures who populate the show's future New New York, voiced with Phil LaMarr's typically sharp comic timing. He exists mostly to serve a scene's particular joke rather than to anchor an ongoing arc.

LaMarr is one of animation's great utility players, and even a small role like this benefits from his ability to snap a line into a distinct, fully formed voice instantly. The character works less as a personality to follow than as a testament to how much comic texture a good voice actor can add to Futurama's crowded, joke-dense world.

Dan McMasters was the leader of the corporate team building retreat on the Planet Express Ship in which he simulated an alien attack in order to build a connection between the crew. However, after announcing that the whole conundrum was a simulation, Fry and Bender did not believe him and shot him to death. McMasters wears a purple suit with a yellow shirt and a bow tie. He has blond hair and white skin.
