Dale Gribble

Dale Gribble runs his own one-man extermination business, Dale's Dead Bug, out of Arlen, Texas, and treats every square inch of daily life as evidence of a vast government conspiracy. A fixture on Hank Hill's driveway with a beer and a cigarette, he's a devoted husband to Nancy and father to Joseph, forever suspicious of everyone but his closest friends.

The show lets Dale's paranoia run wild while everyone around him just shrugs and keeps drinking beer, and that contrast is the joke: he's constantly, hilariously wrong about the world yet weirdly steady as a friend. His nasal drawl and total conviction sell even his most deranged theories, making him lovable rather than exhausting.
