Dain Bornhald

Dain Bornhald rides with the Children of the Light, a young Whitecloak convinced of his order's righteousness. He sees the world in stark terms: Aes Sedai and channelers are corruption to be rooted out, and he carries that certainty like armor. Around Perrin and the Two Rivers folk, his suspicion and zeal set him immediately at odds with people just trying to survive.

Jay Duffy plays him without cartoonish menace, giving Dain's fanaticism a wounded, almost earnest edge rather than pure villainy. The writing uses him to test Perrin's patience and morality early on, and that friction — decency versus dogma — makes their scenes together carry more tension than a simple antagonist ever could.
