Crowd

Crowd is not one person but everyone at once — the anonymous mass of onlookers, protesters, party guests, and panicked citizens who fill out New New York whenever a scene needs a reaction. It has no name, no face worth remembering, and no goal beyond gasping, cheering, or fleeing on cue.

The joke is the credit itself: one performer, billed as an entire multitude, gets to be the show's background hum. Tress MacNeille stretches across dozens of overlapping voices to make a single throwaway crowd shot feel alive, and the gag of crediting 'Crowd' as though it were a recurring character is exactly the kind of deadpan absurdity Futurama built its world on.
