Commandant Jayhold Beehaz

Jayhold Beehaz is an Imperial administrator overseeing the machinery of the Narkina 5 prison-labor facility, first glimpsed as a calm, procedural presence issuing instructions and reassurances over speakers and screens. He speaks the language of quotas, floors, and shifts, treating captive workers as a logistics problem to be managed rather than people to be reckoned with.

Townsend plays him without raised voice or visible cruelty, which is precisely the point: the horror of the facility is administrative, not personal, and Beehaz is its bland, reasonable face. The performance's flat courtesy makes the Empire's machinery feel less like villainy and more like policy — colder, and far harder to fight, for being so polite.
