Cliff Steele / Robotman

Cliff Steele used to be a hotshot race car driver with a wife and daughter, until a crash left his body destroyed and his brain transplanted into a hulking metal shell. Now he's Robotman: profane, furious, and grieving the human life and the family he can no longer touch, living uneasily among fellow outcasts at Doom Manor.

The joke of a man trapped in a clanking robot body could be a one-note gag, but Brendan Fraser's voice work keeps finding the wounded person underneath the sarcasm, while Riley Shanahan's physical performance gives that hulking frame real clumsiness and ache. Cliff's fury is funny and then suddenly isn't, and that whiplash is the character.
