Claire Fisher

Claire is the youngest Fisher, still in high school when her father dies and the family funeral business swallows the household whole. She's sharp-tongued, artistic, restless, and allergic to the numbness everyone around her mistakes for coping. She wants out of Los Angeles and out of the role of the family's difficult, watched-over kid.

Ambrose plays Claire's volatility as intelligence with nowhere to go — every eye-roll and outburst reads as a smart kid choking on a house full of death and denial. The show lets her be genuinely unlikeable and genuinely right at once, and Ambrose finds the tenderness underneath without ever softening the edges.
