Civil Defense Truck

A relic of old civil defense propaganda, this googly-eyed talking truck rolls through New New York dispensing cheerful, deeply unhelpful safety advice in a booming, official voice. It behaves like a leftover 1950s public-service reel come to life, utterly sincere about instructions nobody asked for and everybody ignores.

Maurice LaMarche leans into full newsreel-announcer bombast, which is exactly the joke: a piece of civic kitsch treated with total institutional gravity a thousand years too late. It's a one-scene bit, but the deadpan commitment to obsolete authority is pure Futurama background-gag craftsmanship.
