Charlotte Beaumont plays teenage shock without sentimentality — Chloe's grief comes out sideways, as sullenness, secrecy, flashes of cruelty, rather than tears on cue. The writing refuses to make her simply sympathetic, and Beaumont holds that discomfort, letting you wonder what she's not saying long before you're sure it matters.
