Chiana

Chiana is a young Nebari runaway, all nerve and appetite, who talks fast and steals faster. She turns up half-feral and in trouble, fleeing something on her own homeworld she won't fully explain, and immediately starts working every angle on Moya to survive, charm, or escape whatever's chasing her.

Gigi Edgley plays her as pure kinetic energy — sly, twitchy, unafraid of her own body or anyone else's opinion — which makes Chiana feel genuinely alien rather than human-in-makeup. The writing lets her be selfish and untrustworthy without losing warmth, so her loyalty, when it shows up, actually costs something.
