Hines plays her as the rare Curb character with real affection underneath the exasperation, so her eye-rolls land as marital rather than adversarial. The show needs someone Larry's behavior actually costs something with, and her genuine warmth toward him raises the stakes of every scheme without ever making her a scold or a punchline.
