Charlotte York

Charlotte is the romantic of the group, an art dealer from Connecticut old money who genuinely believes in the fairy tale — the perfect wedding, the perfect brownstone, the perfect husband. She's proper, a little uptight, and endearingly optimistic among three more cynical friends, insisting that decorum and good manners still count for something in dating.

Davis plays sincerity as its own kind of comedy, which is harder than it looks amid three characters built on irony. Charlotte's prudishness and idealism could read as prudish scolding, but the writing keeps testing her convictions against reality, and Davis lets the cracks show with real warmth rather than mockery.
