Cashier

The Cashier is exactly what the title promises: a nameless clerk manning a register somewhere in the Futurama universe, ringing up purchases with the flat, put-upon patience of someone who has seen every kind of customer New New York has to offer and stopped being surprised by any of them.

John DiMaggio's gift is making even a one-scene functionary sound fully lived-in — that gravelly, faintly exasperated delivery he brings to Bender works just as well on a guy stuck behind a counter, turning a throwaway bit part into a small, dryly funny slice of background texture.
