Character

Carole Middleton

Carole Middleton in The Crown (2016), played by Eve Best.

Carole Middleton enters as Kate's mother, a sharp, self-made businesswoman fully aware of the social chessboard her daughter is playing on with Prince William. She is warm and protective at home, but shrewd and unsentimental about image, timing, and appearances whenever the royal world is watching.

Eve Best plays her without a trace of caricature — no striver's desperation, just a clear-eyed woman who has built something from nothing and refuses to let her daughter be treated as disposable. The writing lets her outthink the aristocracy she's up against, and Best makes that quiet confidence entirely believable.

Carole Middleton (née Carole Elizabeth Goldsmith) is the mother of Catherine Middleton and later the mother-in law to Prince William. She appears in Season 6 of The Crown. In The Crown, she is portrayed by Eve Best.
