Carcarons

Carcarons in Futurama (1999), played by Maurice LaMarche.

Carcarons appears as one of the many one-scene or one-line figures populating Futurama's crowded galaxy, the kind of face glimpsed briefly amid the show's parade of aliens, bureaucrats and background weirdos rather than a character built for a season-long arc.

Maurice LaMarche is one of animation's great utility voices, capable of dropping a fully formed personality into a handful of lines, and Futurama leans on that gift constantly. Even a small, quickly sketched role like this benefits from his instinct for timing and texture, adding color to the margins of a very crowded universe.

Carcarons are shark-like aliens who first appeared in "Zapp Dingbat". They, like the Omicronians, are known for being militaristic and planet conquering, but they speak in a different language most of the time. A notable Carcaron is Admiral Chu. The name "Carcarons" is similar to the scientific word for some certain types of shark, "carcharodon".
