Calculon's Manservant

Calculon's Manservant tends to the needs of Futurama's most self-important robot actor, gliding through his master's mansion with the weary competence of someone who has heard one too many dramatic monologues. He exists to serve, to fetch, and to absorb Calculon's theatrical excesses without complaint, playing straight man to a household built entirely around one robot's ego.

The joke is entirely in the contrast: a soap-opera diva demands constant adoration, and his manservant supplies the deadpan normalcy that makes the absurdity land. John DiMaggio, already voicing Bender elsewhere in the show, gives him a dry, put-upon calm that turns a minor background robot into a reliable source of understated comic relief.
