Calculon

Calculon is a soap-opera star of the robot persuasion, the towering, melodramatic lead of All My Circuits who treats every line reading like Shakespeare and every co-star as beneath him. He struts through Futurama's fictional studio lots and awards ceremonies convinced of his own genius, demanding reverence he rarely earns from anyone but himself.

Maurice LaMarche pitches him as pure stentorian Shatner-by-way-of-Metropolis bombast, and the writing never lets the joke run out: a hunk of theatrical brass so committed to his own grandeur that the gap between his self-image and his actual soap-opera schlock becomes the whole engine of the gag. He's funniest precisely when taken most seriously — by himself.
