Byron "Buster" Bluth

The youngest Bluth child, still tethered to his mother Lucille well into adulthood, Buster is anxious, over-educated, and strangely fragile for a grown man with multiple degrees. He hovers around the family estate, desperate for approval, terrified of the outside world, and prone to small breakdowns whenever independence is even suggested.

Tony Hale plays infantilization as genuine anguish, which makes it funnier: every twitchy line reading and panicked hand gesture sells a man who has never been allowed to become himself. The writing keeps finding fresh, absurd ways to yank him toward autonomy and yank him right back, and Hale never lets the flailing feel like a bit — it feels lived-in.
