Bronte works the counter at the bookstore, quick with opinions on literature and quicker to notice things other people miss. She's drawn into Joe Goldberg's orbit with a curiosity that looks like flirtation but carries an edge underneath, as if she's testing him as much as being tested.

Madeline Brewer plays her with a stillness that keeps you guessing what she actually wants, letting small reactions do the work instead of exposition. The show finally gives Joe someone who might see him clearly, and Brewer makes that possibility feel dangerous and alive rather than just another romance.
