Box Network Executive #2

One of the alien television executives who oversee Earth's broadcasts on Futurama, this one literally shaped like a box, complete with an eyestalk and a single grasping tentacle. He speaks in the flat, dismissive jargon of network suits, weighing in on programming decisions with total indifference to anything resembling artistic merit.

The joke is the whole point: an alien species that looks exactly like a television, run by executives who behave exactly like television executives. Maurice LaMarche plays him with dry, bureaucratic boredom, which makes the sight gag land twice as hard. It is Futurama's satire at its most literal and its silliest.
