Border Guard

A jobsworth stationed wherever bureaucracy needs a face, this guard stops travelers at some checkpoint in the Futurama universe and demands papers, permits, or plain compliance with rules that make no sense. He is polite about it, immovable about it, and utterly unbothered by how absurd the situation has become.

Futurama loves a faceless functionary who takes petty authority dead seriously, and Maurice LaMarche's rich, official-sounding baritone sells the joke instantly — the voice of a movie trailer announcer reduced to guarding a turnstile. It's a small, efficient bit of comic texture rather than a character built to carry an episode.
