BoJack Horseman

BoJack is a washed-up sitcom star coasting on residuals from a nineties hit called Horsin' Around, now mostly drinking and sniping at anyone within reach in his Hollywood Hills house. He wants relevance, or maybe just to matter to someone, but he's ghostwriting a memoir he can't be bothered to help write and burning through the people who try to love him.

Will Arnett plays the joke and the wound with the same flat drawl, so a cutting one-liner and a genuine cry for help sound identical until they land. The show never lets his self-awareness translate into change, and Arnett makes that gap — knowing exactly what's wrong and doing it anyway — funny and unbearable at once.
