Bobby McCray

Bobby McCray is Antron's father, a Queens man who shows up at the precinct believing his presence will protect his son. Stern and anxious in equal measure, he trusts that cooperating with police is the safest path, and he pushes Antron toward that belief with the blunt certainty of a parent trying to keep his child out of worse trouble.

Michael K. Williams plays the fear underneath the sternness so plainly that Bobby's worst decision reads as an act of love gone wrong rather than negligence. It's a small role given enormous weight — a father whose instinct to protect becomes indistinguishable, in that room, from doing harm.
