Bobby Briggs

Bobby Briggs is the town's problem boy: a leather-jacketed troublemaker dating homecoming queen Laura Palmer while running with a bad crowd and worse habits. He postures as tough and untouchable, all sneers and swagger, but he's shallow water pretending to be deep, and Laura's death cracks him open faster than he expects.

Dana Ashbrook plays the cliché first and lets the show peel it back — the bully, the cheater, the jock with a drug problem, all set-up for something more wounded underneath. It's a performance of slow unmasking, jittery bravado giving way to real grief and guilt, and it makes Bobby one of Twin Peaks' most surprising redemptions of tone.
