Blazucchi

Blazucchi turns up in the margins of New New York life, one of the many small, sharply-drawn faces Futurama fills its background with. Voiced with the same comic conviction the show gives its briefest walk-ons, the character exists mostly in passing — a flash of personality rather than a plotline.

Tress MacNeille is one of Futurama's great utility players, and characters like Blazucchi show why: she can make a single line of dialogue sound like a whole life, giving even the smallest role a distinct voice and comic shape. It's the show's gift for texture in miniature.
