Character

Billionairebot

Billionairebot in Futurama (1999), played by Phil LaMarr.

Billionairebot is exactly what the name promises: a robot of enormous, ostentatious wealth gliding through Futurama's background as living satire. He turns up among the show's parade of one-scene eccentrics, flaunting riches with the blank, cheerful smugness robots do so well, more punchline than plot device.

Futurama's genius is often in its throwaway names and faces, and Billionairebot is a perfect specimen — a joke condensed into a single word. Phil LaMarr, a reliable utility player for the show's endless bit parts, gives him just enough smarm to land the gag without overstaying his welcome.

Billionairebot was one of several robots in the Ultimate Robot Fighting League (URFL) whom Bender Bending Rodríguez defeats during his career as a robot fighter. As his name implies, he is apparently very rich. He is also completely blind after a horrible banking accident. He has to resort to popping out human eyes and making monocles out of them. He also has children of his own.
