Big-Mouthed Mutant

Deep in New New York's sewers, among the mutant community hidden from the surface world, this wide-jawed background dweller pops up for a beat or two — a gag-sized face in a crowd of exiles, defined mostly by the sheer size of his mouth and whatever throwaway line he's given before the scene moves on.

He's the kind of one-scene oddity Futurama specializes in: a visual joke first, a character second. Maurice LaMarche, one of the show's great utility voices, gives him just enough boom and personality that he registers instantly, proof that even the sewer's unnamed extras get a real comic voice instead of filler.
