Sharp, dry, and quietly appalled by Hollywood's absurdities, she watches her carefully crafted work get reshaped into something unrecognisable, all while trying to keep her marriage and sanity intact.

Tamsin Greig plays Beverly's exasperation with such precise comic control that every raised eyebrow lands harder than a punchline. The writing gives her a fish-out-of-water premise that could be broad, but Greig keeps her wry rather than shrill, letting Beverly's intelligence and self-awareness make the industry's idiocy funnier by contrast.
