Betsy Mallum

Betsy works the coal mines of a small Virginia town, quietly out to a community that doesn't quite welcome it, tough and unassuming and just trying to get by. A back injury sends her to Dr. Finnix, who prescribes her a new painkiller — the beginning of an ordinary young life about to be upended.
