Ben Coulter

Ben Coulter is an ordinary young Londoner, drifting rather than driving his own life, who borrows his father's taxi for a night out. A chance encounter with a stranger pulls him into a spiral he doesn't understand. He wants only to go home, to be unremarkable again, and cannot quite believe what is happening to him.

Whishaw plays innocence not as a fact to be proven but as a texture — the flinching, the silences, the way Ben keeps expecting the adults in the room to explain that this is all a mistake. The performance makes ordinary bewilderment almost unbearable to watch, because you believe every second of his confusion.
