Bean Salesman

A passing figure in the crowded streets of New New York, the Bean Salesman pops up for a scene or two, pitching his wares with the fevered enthusiasm of a man who genuinely believes beans are the answer to whatever problem you happen to be having. He is loud, insistent, and gone before you can really place him.

He is the kind of one-scene oddball Futurama specializes in: a total non-entity elevated by a big, committed vocal performance. Maurice LaMarche, one of the show's great utility players, gives him just enough bluster and comic conviction that a nothing character becomes a small, memorable joke in the background noise of the city.
