Basil is part of the company at the New Burbage Festival, moving through the backstage bustle and boardroom politics that define the show's world of actors, directors, and administrators chasing the same impossible thing: a good production. He brings a large, easy presence to whatever scene he's in, more amused than anxious about the chaos around him.

Seán Cullen, a stand-up by training, gives Basil the timing of someone who knows exactly how long to let a silence sit before landing a line. In an ensemble built on backstage neurosis and thwarted artistic ambition, that unhurried comic confidence stands out, a small pocket of calm amid everyone else's meltdowns.
