Bartholomew

Bartholomew is Hermes Conrad's father, a proud Jamaican farmer who never made peace with his son trading the family plantation for a desk job at Planet Express. He appears gruff and unimpressed, measuring worth in hard work and soil rather than paperwork, and makes no secret of his disappointment when Hermes visits.

Phil LaMarr gives him a stern, weathered authority that turns a stock disapproving-father bit into something with real sting, letting Hermes's usual bureaucratic bluster crack for a moment. The joke is generational and specific rather than broad, and LaMarr's steady, unimpressed delivery makes the old man's judgment land harder than shouting ever could.
