He stands behind the bar in whichever dive the Planet Express crew has wandered into that night, pouring drinks and absorbing the fallout of Fry's schemes, Bender's cons, and Leela's exasperation. He rarely gets a name, just enough personality to raise an eyebrow at the century's worst decisions.

Futurama's bar scenes need someone unbothered enough to sell the absurdity, and Phil LaMarr — already doing heavier lifting elsewhere in the cast — gives this nobody a dry, unimpressed cadence that turns two lines into a punchline. It's a small role played with the same care as a starring one, which is the show's whole ethos in miniature.
