Barbot

Barbot tends bar in the world of Futurama, a robot doing a job humans have done for centuries, pouring drinks and taking in the chatter of Planet Express regulars without much fuss. She's background furniture in the best sitcom sense: always there, rarely the point, quietly keeping the scene moving.

Futurama's genius is treating its robots as just more working stiffs, and Barbot is a tidy example — a bartender whose robotic nature is a shrug rather than a punchline. Tress MacNeille, doing what she does best in voices that don't demand the spotlight, gives her just enough personality to feel lived-in rather than decorative.
