Barack Obama

Barack Obama in Futurama (1999), played by Phil LaMarr.

Appearing as a background or novelty figure rather than a recurring player, this version of Barack Obama drops into Futurama's far-future New New York the way real-world figures often do on the show: recognizable, brief, and played for the gag of finding him centuries out of his own time.

Futurama has always gotten mileage from parachuting real public figures into its absurd future, and Phil LaMarr's flexibility as a voice actor lets the joke land cleanly — a familiar cadence dropped into a strange context, over almost as soon as it starts, which is the whole point of the bit.

Barack Hussein Obama II (born August 4, 1961) was the President of the United States from 2009 to 2017. Given that the heads of numerous other U.S presidents were preserved by 2999, his head is among those on display at the Head Museum in New New York City.
